22,589 fans were treated to a fine game at County Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The San Francisco Giants put 5 runs
on the scoreboard in the 1st inning and won by the slimmest of margins, 7 to
6.
The score was tied at 6 after nine. San Francisco ended up winning it in the
10th inning. Willie McCovey ripped a solo home run (his 1st of the season).
Although they lost, Milwaukee did out-hit San Francisco 14 to 5.
Mike McCormick(1-1) went 1 inning allowing 4 runs for the win. Stu Miller was
credited with his 2nd save. The loss was charged to Claude Raymond(0-1) in
relief.
