Left fielder Donn Clendenon hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Pittsburgh

Pirates defeated the San Francisco Giants 7 to 2 at Candlestick

Park.

 

Pittsburgh took the lead for good in the top of the 5th inning when they

scored 2 runs on 2 hits.  Roy Face was great in relief and recorded his 8th

save.  

 

Harvey Haddix(2-0) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Mike

McCormick(1-2) was charged with the loss.  He was touched for 11 hits and 3

walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
