Harvey Kuenn had 2 base hits and Billy O'Dell was able to finish what he

started and was credited with a complete game as the San Francisco Giants

defeated the Chicago Cubs 3 to 1 at Wrigley Field.

In the top of the 3rd inning San Francisco went on top for good scoring a

single run utilizing 2 base hits. That was all the runs O'Dell(15-8) needed.

San Francisco banged out 7 on the afternoon.

Dick Ellsworth(7-17) ended up with the loss. With this win, San Francisco has

a league leading 77-42 record. They have been 7-3 lately. Chicago can't

seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8

record over the last couple weeks.
