San Francisco took the lead for good in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring 2

runs utilizing 2 base hits. Mays led off and started the attack as he lined

McCovey came up and he bombed a two-run dinger (his 8th of the season). San

Francisco had 8 hits for the afternoon.
