In a close game it was the Los Angeles Dodgers 5, the San Francisco Giants 3
at Dodger Stadium.
Don Drysdale(15-8) pitched well for Los Angeles in their victory. He went 7
and 2/3 innings allowing 8 hits and 3 walks. San Francisco made it exciting
in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Drysdale got help from Ron Perranoski who earned his 12th save. The loss was
charged to Billy O'Dell(12-8). 'We didn't get the key hits when we needed
them' San Francisco's manager said. 'We did what we could, we just didn't
pull out the win. What can you say?'
