Shortstop Jose Pagan had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Colt Stadium as the San Francisco

Giants beat the Houston Colt 45's 8 to 5.

Pagan was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at

their team's expense. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 6th of the

season) in the 2nd inning, doubled scoring two baserunners in the 5th inning,

laced a one-base hit in the 7th inning and lined a base-hit in the 9th

inning. San Francisco managed 12 in their victory.

Jack Sanford(11-8) was the winner allowing 5 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.

Sanford was helped out by Stu Miller who recorded his 17th save. The losing

pitcher was Ken Johnson(8-8). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10 hits and 4

walks in 7 innings.

San Francisco extended their winning streak to 6 games.
