Juan Marichal tossed a complete game as the San Francisco Giants beat the
Houston Colt 45's by a score of 8 to 1.
Orlando Cepeda had a big evening at the plate. He lifted one out of the park
for a two run home run (his 19th of the season) in the 3rd inning, smacked a
single scoring two baserunners in the 4th inning and banged out a one-base
hit in the 6th inning. San Francisco rapped out 15 hits for the night.
The victory went to Marichal(9-2) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Jim
Golden(5-5) was charged with the loss. He allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 4
and 1/3 innings.
