Right fielder Johnny Callison cracked a homer and had 3 RBI at Candlestick
Park as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Francisco Giants by the count
of 7 to 6.
Philadelphia won the game with a run in the top of the 9th inning. Tony
Taylor tripled. After an out was recorded, Tony Gonzalez stepped in and he
would hit into a fielders choice scoring the run. Philadelphia had 12 hits
overall, while San Francisco had 8.
Jack Hamilton(8-6) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Jim Duffalo(1-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3
innings and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.
