Al Jackson allowed New York's manager to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and Frank Thomas went deep and had 3 RBI at Candlestick Park as the New
York Mets beat the San Francisco Giants by the count of 10 to 3.
New York tallied 4 runs in the top of the 3rd inning with the help of 5 hits.
That early scoring was all that Jackson(5-10) needed. New York managed 11 in
their victory.
Bobby Bolin(4-5) ended up with the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 6 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
