Center fielder Willie Mays went yard and had 2 RBI as the San Francisco Giants

defeated the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings by the score of 11 to 7 at

Riverfront Stadium.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. San Francisco won

the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. The crucial at-bat was provided

by Jim Davenport who silenced the stadium when he doubled clearing the bases.

San Francisco managed 13 in their victory.

Don Larsen(4-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Jim

Brosnan(0-3) was charged with the loss in relief. His ERA ballooned from

3.60 to 5.26 as he allowed 5 runs in 2/3 of an inning.

With this win, San Francisco has a league leading 39-24 record. They have

been 7-3 lately. Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Cincinnati is

2-8 of late and now has an overall record of 29-30.
