Third baseman Jim Davenport jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI and
Billy O'Dell was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the San Francisco Giants defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 8
to 3 at Candlestick Park.
San Francisco wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they
scored 4 runs on 3 hits. That early scoring held up. San Francisco banged
out 10 on the night.
O'Dell(8-4) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Ernie
Broglio(6-5) was given the loss. He gave up 7 runs in 5 innings of work.
