Jose Pagan slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the San Francisco Giants

defeated the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings by a score of 7 to 6 at

Candlestick Park.

Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. San Francisco won it

in the 10th inning. Felipe Alou laced a base-knock. Tom Haller stepped into

the batter's box and he singled. Pagan then hit a deep fly resulting in a

mighty exciting win for San Francisco and the 37,669 home town fans in

attendance. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans,

as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all.

Mike McCormick(5-4) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Ted Wills(1-4)

ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing 2

hits and no walks.

Frank Robinson slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI but his offense was not enough

to carry Cincinnati to victory.
