Billy O'Dell went the distance as the San Francisco Giants outscored the
Philadelphia Phillies 5 to 2.
Philadelphia was unable to recover after San Francisco went ahead in the 4th
inning as they scored 2 runs on 2 base hits. Both teams ended up with 8 on
the afternoon.
The win was credited to O'Dell(5-3) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
Art Mahaffey(4-8) was tagged with the loss. San Francisco continued their
winnings ways improving their record to a league leading 28-15. They are 8-2
in their last ten games. Philadelphia will hope that this loss is only a
'blip' on their recent 8-2 run - and not a start of a new trend.
