Shortstop Bobby Wine smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Shibe Park as the
Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Francisco Giants 9 to 5.
Wine enjoyed a big day at the plate. He delivered a base-hit in the 2nd
inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 4th inning and popped a two-run clout
over the fence (his 2nd of the season) in the 5th inning. San Francisco was
out-hit by Philadelphia, 12 hits to 9.
Paul Brown(4-0) got the win allowing 5 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Jack
Baldschun got the save, his 6th. Bobby Bolin(4-3) took the loss in relief.
He was not very effective, surrendering 4 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
