The Cincinnati Reds had an easy time of it at Candlestick Park defeating the
San Francisco Giants by a score of 9 to 4.
In the top of the 5th inning Cincinnati went on top for good when they tallied
2 runs on 1 hit. The critical plate appearance was by Wally Post who
silenced Candlestick Park as he smashed a two-run homer (his 9th of the
season). Despite losing, San Francisco out-hit Cincinnati 12 to 9.
Johnny Klippstein(11-7) allowed 2 runs in 5 innings, and picked up the
victory. Billy Pierce(13-5) was hit with the loss. He allowed Cincinnati 7
runs in 6 innings of work.
