Juan Marichal delivered 9 solid innings as the potent San Francisco Giants

defeated the Milwaukee Braves 3 to 2 at Candlestick Park.



San Francisco had 1 run cross the plate in the 6th inning. Milwaukee proved

to be no trouble in the 9th. The victory went to Marichal(16-5) who went the

distance allowing 2 runs. Bob Hendley(10-11) was given the loss.



'Marichal was the man tonight,' San Francisco's manager said. 'He had just

about every pitch working.'
