Felipe Alou slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Jack Sanford completed the
game without help from the bullpen as the San Francisco Giants crushed the
Milwaukee Braves 13 to 3.
Alou enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He delivered a solo blast in the 4th
inning, hit a bases-empty home run (his 21st of the season) in the 5th inning
and doubled knocking in a run in the 6th inning. San Francisco rapped out 15
hits for the afternoon.
Sanford(16-8) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. The loss was
charged to Warren Spahn(19-10). He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 5 and
2/3 innings of work.
With this win, San Francisco has a league leading 85-47 record. They have
been 6-4 lately. With the loss, Milwaukee has a record of 3-7 lately, 68-66
overall.
