Dick Farrell whiffed 10 batters as the Houston Colt 45's defeated the San
Francisco Giants by a score of 9 to 1 at Colt Stadium.
Farrell(17-12) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the San Francisco
offense. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings. Houston banged out 11 on the night.
Billy O'Dell(17-11) was hit with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits
and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings. 'Everything felt great' Farrell said. 'I
had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'
