Francisco Giants in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 4.
The score was tied at 4 after nine. Houston won the hard fought contest in
the 10th inning. Hal Smith banged out a single. After another out, Norm
Larker was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Joe Amalfitano then drew
a walk. Pidge Browne stepped in and he stroked a base-hit scoring the run.
Houston ended up with 13 hits for the game while San Francisco had 10.
Jim Umbricht(6-4) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Don McMahon
earned the save, his 10th. Jim Duffalo(4-6) took the loss in relief.
