Tom Haller hit 2 doubles and had 5 RBI as the San Francisco Giants destroyed
the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 14 to 3 at Sportsman's Park.
Haller had a big day with his bat. He doubled in the 1st inning, lashed a
single which scored a run in the 7th inning and doubled emptying the bases in
the 8th inning. San Francisco simply wore out the St. Louis pitching staff,
scoring in 6 different innings.
Jack Sanford(19-9) allowed 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Ernie Broglio(14-13) was the loser. He was knocked around by San
Francisco, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
